Meeting 2

During this meeting, we discussed two strong narratives and storylines so then we could pick our prerrred idea to embed in our opening sequence.
Below are the two narratives  we came up with during the meeting:

Shot Number 1: Present moment - The Opening shot commences with a newspaper reporter stating 'On December 19th, a girl was home alone. At 11:32, the harrassment began'. Fuzzes out and cuts into past time’ showing the audience what happened to the girl.

The protagonist, a teenage girl (16 years of age) invites a few close friends round her house for a sleepover, as she is home alone and it’s a Friday night.

Shot Number 2: Sound of current R&B song playing in the background; stereotypical music for teenagers. It is a typical sleepover setting with the girls gossiping and watching chick flick films but the girl feels unwell and tired.

Shot number 3: However she soldiers on until her condition becomes worse and the friends decide to leave so the protagonist can have some rest and an early nights sleep. The girl apologises and says she will reschedule the sleepover to next Friday. They bid each other their farewell and the friends of the girl leave.

Shot number 4: The girl goes into the kitchen sink and opens the tap to get a glass of water. She shuts the tap and takes 2 Paracetamol tablets from the medicine drawer.  She takes the painkillers, turns off the TV, makes sure both he front door and back door are locked and goes upstairs and tucks herself into her bed.

Shot Number 5: The girl is gradually drifting off to sleep until se is immediately awakened by the sound of indistinct TV in the background. She goes downstairs, only to see the news turned on, stating how a teenage girl had been harassed whilst home alone, and the event resulted in death.

Shot Number 6: The girl becomes anxious, however turns off the TV and makes her way upstairs. At that moment the telephone rings.
Girl: Hello
Stranger: I can see you
Girl: Excuse me?
Stranger: Im in the garden, want to play hide and seek?
Girl immediately puts down the phone in panic.
Shot Number 7: The audience sees a shot of a man that’s identity is hidden, walking down the path towards the back door. Frantic girl rushes towards the door to make sure the doors are locked. The stranger has disappeared from the garden.

Shot Number 8: A blank screen is shown. The audience can hear diegetic sound of persistent ringing of the doorbell, TV and radio turned on, alarm sets off and all taps are opened.

Shot Number 9: Girl becomes paranoid and intensely distressed. She screams for help, followed by a creaking door opening (by the intruder).

Shot Number 10: Girl immediately hides under bed.

Shot Number 11: Blank screen. There is diagetic sound of girls’ heartbeat amplified and irregular breathing.

Shot Number 12: Stranger: I can see you
Shot Number 13: Blank screen. Sound of progressive footsteps becoming louder and louder, this creates tension. Suddenly the sound stops, all the viewers can hear is silence followed by 3 seconds of a sharp muffling scream.

Shot Number 14: The ending shot is shown of the present time (news reporter) showing a scene of sirens from several ambulances and police cars on the news channel. The news programme switches off on the screen. This is immediately followed by the stranger repeating his tag line to the audience: I can see you *in a twisted sickening manner*.
